Marko, i believe everyone feels the same. Could you please revisit this retirement issue? Thirty years old is very young to retire. I’m losing two starters here, and my level 6 youth academy isn’t producing anyone decent to make up for it. Would it be possible to review this and increase the minimum retirement age?
It it actually 31 the earliest age of the retirement with 39 being latest. For the GKs it's 33 to 41. They all announce the retirement 1 full season in advance (56 days), so they play one more season.
The average retirement age is 35 and 37.
When players are generated thay have set the age of the retirement and that stat is completely hidden from everyone.
We can change soon that 32 is minimal age of retirement, but for players that come from youth academy or that are newly generated in Sim FCs (later being taken by real Managers)
I have a starting player here who is 30 years old and has already announced his retirement for the end of the season. He only turns 31 on the 55th day of the season. That means he will play his final season while still 30 years old. Anyway, as you mentioned, nothing can be done regarding generic players. But when it comes to youth academy players, don’t you think 32 years old is still too early to retire? A player’s career ends up being very short.
You yourself said that the average retirement age is between 35 and 37 years old. Therefore, it would make much more sense to set 35 as the minimum retirement age. That would be far closer to reality.
There are many positive features Marko has added to the game that make the experience feel very close to real life. This issue of the minimum retirement age could follow the same direction and be adjusted to become more realistic as well.
As it currently stands, the overall level of teams is likely to drop significantly, because there won’t be enough player replacement. On top of that, the market will become even more inflated, and clubs will have to choose between investing in infrastructure or spending on signings just to remain competitive.
