@Wallace
Actually, the team with 2 red cards is drastically penalized indeed, but as always extremes and rare outcomes are possible which probably happened in your match. Team with 2 more players on the field gain possession rapidly what results in more attacks and shots. Of course, even in those situations the team with 9 players could manage to defend their own goal for 30 minutes or so and maybe to score in one of their rare chances. Also, the GK of the teams with 9 players was the Man of the Match by saving many great chances and shots of your team.
Hello! Sim FC’s goalkeeper is Man of the Match in 80% of the games. Today’s Man of the Match was a goalkeeper with a rating of 19. It just doesn’t seem right, in my honest opinion. Too many random things for me..
I have to ask for opinion here @Marko as I am not sure about the level of random in this game at this stage.

I lost this game 2:1 - both goals came from players with rating 13 and 21.
My GK has 34 rating, my defenders are 35, 34, 34, 29.
I accept that it would be insane that I win based on rating every game but when my ST with 32 rating don't score against weaker defence and 16yo with 13 rating scores against me, it looks like I can do just fine with way weaker players.

I lost this one against bot team, playing as Makachev at home.
ST with rating 20 scored against me, average rating of my defenders is well above 30, same as for the rest of my team. Perhaps the highest average rating in the game if you look at the starting 11 players.
Last game I scored 9 goals, this time only 1, playing at home and conceded 2 goals against bot team who had like RB with rating 18 here.
It would be boring if every outcome is known in advance but things like these are highly unlikely to happen IRL as well.
If I can't say for certain that I am better from bot team who has 3 players in the starting lineup with rating between 18-22, even after spending gazilion $ for much older and better players, than I don't know what is the point.
If this is just the part of the game and we should accept it, please let me know
First of all, I need to mention that we will work on ME as well as many other parts of the game. Just 3 seasons passed and DS is unrecognizable in comparison to S1. That trend will remain in the future, so the game will only grow and improve. Our plan is to implement all main features in the first 5-6 seasons, then (or a bit earlier) to grow the community and then after Seasons 6-7 when we have the game mostly built, to focus on ME and tactical improvements (ofc, not only these).
Now straight to the point of your questions.
If one striker has rating 13, other 30 and the GK has rating 34, that 13 rated striker still can score a goal, right? What is different is that 13 rated striker will get into goal chance / shooting harder than 30 rated striker, then he will have less accuracy to shot on target and finally if he does both, his shot will probably be less precise and powerful than the shot of 30 rated striker, so the 34 rated GK will have higher chance for a save based on his quality. Considering all, 13 rated player still can score, he is not a fully unskilled kid, but his match performance over time will almost for sure be worse than the performance of 30 rated striker in the same team / against the same opponents.
Keep in mind that the difference in quality between 13 and 30 is 17, not 40 or 50 where he would really have a hard time to get in a chance and shoot at all. Of course, even then he could score, but probably once in many games. So, his, let's say "scoring potential" would be very low, but still not 0.
Also, rating suggests how some player is good overall, but if some player has great scoring skills and others really low, he will mess up many attacks of his team by losing ball or with bad passes etc, but if he finally gets into scoring chance, his scoring qualities will have an effect, so his overall value for the team might be low, although he scores a bit better than some more overall skilled player. This paragraph is not exactly what you asked, but I felt it's worth to mention. So, it pretty much simulates the real life football.
You can test this by putting 13 rated striker into your squad and then 30 rated striker into the same squad and play 100 or 200 friendly games against the same opponent. (Okay, it's hard to execute for you) you will see the difference in performance that depicts real life scenario. But, if you play only 1 match like that (13 / 30 striker), you could witness one of the best matches in the season of that 13 rated striker or maybe one of the worst matches of that 30 rated striker. The same applies for the team in general.
We are monitoring every aspect of the game carefully and if we notice any room for improvement, we will work on it sooner or later.
Hope this helps.
Feel free (anybody) to ask further if there is still something unclear.
