Tell me about it, man. There's so much wrong with this game that it's not fun at all anymore. I only keep logging in because I'm hoping that, someday, Marko sells the game to someone who can actually fix what he's messed up.
IMO you have to evolve with time. You don't go all-in building to max level when your team is this early in the game. You can't afford it. It's not rocket science. Only when you have a large enough fan base you can. Increase facility levels when you can, not when you want to.

Youth academy: completely downgraded, with a very high cost and practically no return.
Training: the attributes were increased to 20, much higher than they used to be, making it much harder to increase a player’s rating. On top of that, the training center is so expensive that it becomes unfeasible to upgrade both the TC and the YC at the same time.
Inactive teams and bots: we are already in the 4th season and we still see inactive teams and bots winning many matches. There is a team here in Brazil that is currently leading the first division and has already won the national cup, even though they haven’t logged in since November. There should be mechanisms to weaken these teams, such as sending their players to the transfer market.
Champion teams being “nerfed” in the following season: there have been reports here on the forum, and I can confirm from my own experience that when you win the league title, your team’s performance clearly drops in the following season. This was probably configured by Marko as a way to prevent one team from dominating the league and to keep things balanced. But what about the teams that invested a lot of money to keep winning titles? That shouldn’t happen. It’s not something that should be adjusted this way.
Injuries: I have never seen a game with this many injuries. Here, every 2 or 3 matches, one of the starters gets injured.
Game owner actively playing as a manager: it’s rare to see games where the owners participate actively. At the beginning we talked about this, but many people supported it. Then, 4 seasons later, Marko says that the youth academy has been configured this way since the start, while he himself followed the strategy of buying players instead of heavily investing in the academy from the very beginning. Meanwhile, many people followed the strategy of focusing on the academy and now barely have any money left. He knew what the best strategy was before everyone else but kept it to himself, and that creates a competitive advantage.
Retirement: he didn’t adjust the retirement age, and that’s the mistake. Since he drastically weakened the youth academy, he should have increased the minimum retirement age. Now the tendency is for our team’s average rating to decrease when the starters retire, which is something I’ve never seen before: you play from the beginning and, over time, instead of improving your team’s average rating, it actually gets worse.
Now tell me: be sincere, are you satisfied with all of this?
No, ofc not. I thought this thread was only about youth academy :) I honestly got quite good players in my level 5 academy and won't keep improving my facilities as I can't afford to
There's a lot to be done and adjusted in the game itself, that I agree. It's totally out of balance

And with each passing season, our teams get worse than SIM FC, because their players are renewed every season, while ours just keep getting older and retiring, with no way to replace them with young players, because simply no good potential comes from the academy.

Sorry to break it to you but your youngsters cannot be considered even average :)
Marko, I noticed in the player search tab that there are many 17-year-olds with a rating over 20. There's even a team called 'Team Joker' that has 3 youngsters with a rating over 27. Meanwhile, the best I've ever received in 5 seasons—having been at academy level 8 for almost 2 months—was a 14 rating... And most of those who got rating 20 players haven't even reached level 8 of the academy yet.
Now explain to me, is this a punishment for publicly criticizing the game? If that's the case, let me know and I'll quit playing right now and never come back. Because it's very hard to understand how so many people received good players from the academy while being at lower levels.
What are your facilities all looking like? Have you upgraded toilets and parking to the max levels? These will generate extra income as long as you keep your stadium big enough.
It's probably worth keeping your YA and Stadium at a lower level until you're pulling some talent through to help sustain your economy - that said, been a long time since I've played :-)
